Ski trip to Hochoetz – February 2023

After a three year absence of taking ski trips to Austria, we were delighted to be able to take forty three pupils to the slopes of Hochoetz, near Innsbruck. Unusually we had three large beginner groups plus one group containing those that had skied before. It’s fair to say that many found the physicality of skiing a challenge but all dug deep to develop their skills and travel around the mountain resort. Hochoetz is a family friendly place with stunning views across the Alps and the environment is simply breathtaking. It was a delight to see the pupils’ faces light up as they travelled up the ski lift up on that first morning and stepped out onto the snow. The ski instructors from Mali Ski School were superb; very encouraging, supportive and keen to give the students an adventure. In addition to skiing, everyone enjoyed a muscle relaxing session at a luxury spa swimming pool and had an evening of bowling. Thanks to everyone who came on the trip, for making it such a pleasure and for appreciating the value of spending time in the mountains.
